WELCOME TO THE IRELAND FELLOWS

VOLUNTEERING PROGRAMME!

You are now officially an Ireland Fellow Volunteer -

read and seek information,

reflect on your volunteering goals,

check available opportunities in your community,

choose an opportunity and apply to volunteer!

YOUR VOLUNTEERING JOURNEY STARTS NOW!

READ AND SEEK INFORMATION

Read the booklet (link) you have received from ICOS and ask any questions you may have - we would be more than happy to provide clarifications and talk about your doubts and concerns!

Read the information provided on the Volunteer Ireland website (link) and contact your local volunteer centre (link) if you have any questions.

Look into clubs and societies as well as other available opportunities on your campus, and try to find out if there is a volunteer coordinator at your university or college who can help you out in case you need any assistance.

REFLECT ON YOUR VOLUNTEERING GOALS

Why would you like to volunteer? Who would you like to volunteer with? Which cause would you like to support? What would you like to do - what interests do you have, what skills can you use? When are you free to volunteer? How much time would you like to invest?

FIND VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES

  1. Make an account on STUDENT VOLUNTEER (link) to discover and apply for available opportunities for students in your community.
  2. Research available opportunities in your community on I-VOL (link), national volunteer database. Make an account to apply for desired opportunities and subscribe to their newsletter to receive opportunities near you tailored to your interests directly to your inbox.
  3. Discover currently available opportunities across Ireland on ACTIVE LINK (link).
  4. Take a look at the ANNEX (link) prepared by ICOS where you can find a list of recommended organisations providing volunteering opportunities in your community.
  5. Stop by your local volunteer centre and talk to the staff there to help you pick an opportunity perfect for you.
  6. Look into clubs and societies at your campus, and the opportunities they offer.
  7. Find out if there is a (student) volunteer coordinator on your campus or if another staff member at your university or college is responsible for volunteering on campus and have a chat with them.

VOLUNTEERING LOG

Once the activity you were involved in is over, you should record it in the VOLUNTEERING LOG (link).

Please record every activity you participate in individually, as soon as it is over.

It will take you only 10-15 minutes to answer all the questions in the form.

RECORD YOUR VOLUNTEERING ACTIVITY AND PARTICIPATE IN
